Good Enough for Grandpa is the brainchild of one grandpa with a different kind of musical appetite. “I want something new,” he told the band. “Something that touches on the whole human experience. Life ain’t solemn love and death all the time; but it ain’t funny clowns and vaudeville all the time neither. It ain’t thunder and rain all the time, no, but it ain’t colorful rainbows all the time neither. But I’ll tell you one thing, kids – life’s a miracle. And no matter how absurd it gets you remember that. And you put that into your music, you hear me? No matter how absurd life may get, you remember that this life’s a blessing. You go and show ‘em that, boys, you’ve got my blessing.”
And so the two young boys set out armed with their grandfather’s directions and a wide array of musical appliances with which to carry them out. Socially exiled from Folsom, California, they fled to Portland, Oregon, where they felt safer. After Grandpa passed away, the two decided it was time to avenge the absurdity of death by infusing it with the miracle of life, and thus they revealed their first EP – Easy Listening for Difficult People (EP).
